So everyone is always asking me how Connor and I met, well this is the story. Our relationship was long distance, he lived in Washington(the state) and I lived in Maryland. We were 2,784 miles away from each other. Our relationship began with one little Youtube comment. On August 8th, 2009 Connor saw that I commented on one of Jeydon Wale’s videos saying he was cute. He decided to take a look at my Youtube channel to see who I was and what I looked like. He thought I was beautiful, so he messaged me saying he liked my videos. I then messaged him back saying I liked his too and we exchanged numbers. On August 10th, he asked me to be his girlfriend. I said yes because we really hit it off. Then in September, I broke up with him because I didn’t think that our long distance relationship would work out.
Connor kept talking to me and trying to get me to go back out with him. October 23, we started dating again. I was so crazy about him, it was unbelievable. Since I had a job, I saved up money to go see him Spring Break, which was on March 25th. I convinced my mom to let me go by telling her that he used to live in Maryland, but had to move to Washington. He told his parents that I used to live in WA, but had to move to MD because of my dad’s job. They never found out we met on Youtube until last year, when we told them. When Spring Break rolled around my friend Allison, my mother, and I flew to Washington to see Connor. The day after we landed, March 26th, the three of us drove to Connor’s house to pick him up so we could hang out and meet for the first time. I was so nervous to go see him, I didn’t know if he’d reject me because I looked different in person or he just wouldn’t like my personality. When we finally arrived at his house, I texted him and told him we were there, he said he was scared to come outside. My friend Allison said that if he didn’t come out, she would drag him out, so here he comes walking out the door slowly. I get out of the car to go meet him halfway. We exchange hellos, we don’t hug or kiss, then we walk back to the car. We go to Jack in the Box to get some dinner and Connor makes me sit next to him and he pulls my chair close to his. He asked me for a hug and I said no (because I was very shy), but he hugs me anyway. After we leave, we go back to the hotel and during the car ride home he puts his hand on my leg. It was awkward, but cute. We spent a week together, then I had to go back to Maryland. I left Washington on April 1st. We both were so upset for me to leave. We planned to see each other again during the summer.
On July 19th, Connor flew to see me. I had been paying for plane tickets, since I was the only one with a job. We spent two weeks together that summer. On July 22nd, we lost our virginity’s to each other. That was the best two weeks of my life. Connor met my family and they all loved him. After the two weeks were over, we planned to spend Thanksgiving together and we did. I went to Washington on November 24th til the 29th. I met his family for the very first time and they seemed to like me. The next time I saw Connor was on Christmas. He was in Maryland from December 25th til January 3rd. On New Year’s Eve, he proposed to me. My family was gathered around us waiting for the ball to drop, when the countdown got to 10 seconds, Connor got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. I was so speechless, I covered my hands over my mouth and said yes. I jumped on him and he spun me around, while my whole family clapped and congratulated us. What a great way to end his visit.
Connor came to see me February 17th, just for a weekend. Since we couldn’t spend Valentine’s Day together, he decided to come down on his four day weekend to make up for it. Then the next time we saw each other was for his Spring Break in March. On March 25th he arrived and stayed for a week. My Spring break was in April, which was good because his prom was April 23rd. I stayed with til the 25th. He came down for my prom, which was May 7th. I saw him from the 6th til the 8th. Finally, June came and I graduated High School on June 1st, then went to see him June 3rd. I got to see him graduate from High School, which I felt pretty special being able to be there for him. Ever since June 3rd, we have been living together. We moved to Maryland together at the end of June. We will be moving back to Washington on April 7th.
I’m so glad that I met Connor. It truly was fate that brought us together. I definitely had my doubts because we were so far away from each other and could only communicate through texting and calling until I got a webcam which was in the Summer of 2010. Our long distance relationship was so worth it. We had our fights and challenges, but that’s what a relationship is about. Connor and I plan to get married on August 10th, 2013.
